Float Pool M/S Tele RN – Salem, MA

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (04/05/2026 – 07/04/2026)

Shift: 36-Hour Day Rotation | Primarily Days/Eves with 1–3 Night rotations per contract.

Job Summary:

Seeking an adaptable and highly skilled Float Pool Telemetry RN. This role is designed for a nurse who thrives on variety and clinical challenges. You will be a vital resource for the hospital, floating between 8 different units, including diverse Med/Surg Telemetry floors, the Emergency Department (for boarders), and specialized areas like the acute mental health unit (as a med nurse).

Key Responsibilities

• Cardiac Mastery: Manage patients on continuous cardiac monitoring; responsible for measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours.
• Advanced Med/Surg Skills: Manage Cardiac Drips and provide care for patients with TR Bands (radial artery compression devices).
• High-Acuity Floating: Support multiple units (Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9; PH 6/7; Pingree 4; ED; and Overflow) based on daily hospital census and acuity.
• Versatile Care: Provide nursing care for ED boarding patients and non-vented patients who are transfer-ready within the ICU environment.
• Psychiatric Support: Act as a medication nurse within the acute mental health unit when assigned.
• Documentation: Maintain precise records using the Epic EMR system.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience (telemetry focus).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading telemetry strips, interval measurement, and cardiac drip management. TR Band experience is required.
• Licensure: Active Massachusetts (MA) RN License is required.
• Certifications: AHA BLS – Required.
• Rotation Policy: Must be willing to rotate between Days/Eves and occasional Night shifts (1–3 per contract) as per the Union agreement.

Unit & Facility Details

• Facility Size: 371-bed hospital.
• Patient Ratios: * Days/Eves: Up to 5:1.
  • Nights: Up to 6:1.
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (EOW).
• Parking: FREE on-site parking is provided for staff.
