Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in an acute care unit with 34 beds, serving primarily geriatric and adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients (not assigned to travelers).
• Patient ratio approximately 6:1.
• Unit includes telemetry, surgical, and general medical patients.
• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM, with occasional weekend work (same hours).
• Call required only when unit is down staffed or placed on call.
• Possible float to care for inpatient holds.
• Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, tele monitors, etc.
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel nursing experience
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certification in National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Dress code: Scrubs of any color; closed-toed shoes required.
• Weekend hours and call requirements as noted above.
