Unit Information:
o Beds: 39 beds
Census? Average patients/day? 120 patients per day
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Emergency care all ages.
o We see a high acuity including stroke, STEMI, walk-in traumas, etc.
o High level of psych patients. Dedicated area for psych patients
Patient Ratios:
o 1:4
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI
Skills required:
o Trach care, vent care, ICU drip care and maintenance, chest tube, art line, CVL, picc, midline, port, foley, splint/Ortho device application and care, bipap/hiflow, continuous bladder irrigation
Support within the Department:
o ER Techs
o HUC
o Charge nurse
o RT 24/7
o Hospitalist 24/7
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Cerner
o IV Pump: Plum 360
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Phillips
o Unit specific equipment:

o Weekend rotation: Every 3rd weekend
