Unit Information:
o Beds: 24
8-16 ICU and 8 stepdown patients daily
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Intensive care, ventilator support, post cardiac procedure (no open thoracic but will see PCI), ballon pumps, Swanz, continuous renal replacement therapy, sepsis, ECMO, PEs, post thrombectomy, post stroke (not hemorrhagic).
Patient Ratios:
o 1:1-3
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI
Skills required:
o Experience with above patients type, vents, trachs, tube feeds, chest tubes, any titrating drips, DKA management
Support within the Department:
o 1 CNA/PCA per 8-12 patients
o Dedicated RT 24/7
o Midlevel ICU providers always on site
o Receptionist/HUC
o Charge nurse
o Phlebotomy
o Intensivist 24/7
o Telemetry monitoring/tech
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Cerner
o IV Pump: Plum 360
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Phillips
o Unit specific equipment: CRRT, Artic Sun, Balloon Pump, EKOS, Prenumbra, Pacer
Floating: If yes, where?
o Yes, could float within scope of practice and below, including to PCU, MedSurg, and Tele
Orientation (facility and unit) :
o NEO
o 1-2 shifts in the unit
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: No more than every other weekend
o On call? No
o Holiday Expectations: Based on unit needs
o Approval of RTO: to go through manager
o Shift times: 0645-1915, 1845-0715
o Schedule cycle:
Will consider block scheduling
