Unit Information:
o Beds: 30
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Chest pain, cardiac diagnoses, PCI, general medical
Patient Ratios:
o 1:5, occasionally 6
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI
Skills required:
o IV starts, tube management (chest, JP drains, hemovacs) oral care, dressing changes, wound care, drips, CIWA and COWS
Support within the Department:
o PCA/CNA
o HUC
o Charge nurse
o Phlebotomy
o RT 24/7
o Hospitalist 24/7
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Cerner
o IV Pump: Plum 360
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Phillips
o Unit specific equipment:
Floating: If yes, where?
o Yes, within scope of practice and below, other Mixed Acuity units
Orientation (facility and unit) :
o NEO
o 1 shift on the floor
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: No more than every other weekend
