Description
Nursing care includes adult patients. If the RN has PALS and pediatrictraining, there is the possibility to treat pediatric patients. The RN is a member of a multidisciplinary care team that requires effectivecommunication and collaboration with co-workers and staff at the BWH, DFCI andcollaborating institutions and agencies. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborativepractice, excellent communication skills and an understanding of the principlesand practices of current treatment for cancer and clinical research. Performs procedures and Point of Care Testing as ordered. Experience:1-2 Years of Procedural experience required.Brachytherapy or radiation oncology experience strongly preferred.3-5 Years of general nursing experience SCHEDULE
Department hours are 6:30 am -7:00 pm This is a 40-hour position
The travel RN will work rotating shifts of 630-5, 7-530, or 730-6pm Monday- FridayUnit Description: We would like to request a 16 20-week contract as 13 weeks is too short with the required onboarding. Radiation Oncology Procedural RN The Radiation Oncology staff nurse s responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population-this is a procedural role in brachytherapy where the RNs would prepare the patient, assist in the procedure, and recover the patient as needed. The staff nurse provides patient and family education, clinical support and psychosocial and emotional support before, during and after treatment.
