Description
Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby
Shift: DAYS 645a-715p, every other weekend
Required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (advanced), STABLE, EFM
Epic experience
2 years RN experience
IN license at submission
Job Responsibilities:
-Assessment: Performs assessments & reassessments per policy & procedure or as warranted by patient condition; demonstrates ability to make sound independent decisions.
-Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family & interdisciplinary services; utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization/patient/family.
-Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions.
-Education: Facilitates/coordinates/provides/evaluates education specific to patient/family needs and as appropriate to the care, treatment and services provided during their stay and at discharge.
-Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; functions as a mentor/preceptor; demonstrates/encourages/facilitates teamwork; identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement; participates in quality, safety and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes; complies with regulatory standards; participates in the Practice Governance model.supervisor.
-Is knowledgeable about activities which facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
-Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
-Effectively uses communication systems.
-Participate in promoting cost-effective care.
-Gives feedback to co-workers.
-Is aware of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting the health care environment.
-Promotes a safe, clean and secure hospital environment for all.
-Patient Assessment: Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.
-Includes appropriate physical, psychosocial, education and safety needs.
-Synthesizes assessment data into meaningful whole prior to communication to others.
-Assesses and anticipates discharge needs of individual patients and families.
-Develops relationships with families that promote their ability to advocate for the patient and their own needs.
-Planning: Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care.
-Make use of available multidisciplinary resources in planning care.
-Begins to use full range of communication as a means to convey planning.
-Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care.
-Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems.
-Research: Reads journals that contain studies or articles that may be applicable to practice.
-Brings ideas and questions to the staff at large for assessment of applicability.
