Facility: Catholic Medical Center Unit: Med Surg Location: 100 McGregor Street, Manchester, NH Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Duration: 13 Weeks Years of Experience Required: 2

Unit Overview
48‑bed Medical‑Surgical unit (average census 27) providing comprehensive care to a diverse adult patient population. The unit is known for strong teamwork, excellent retention, and a supportive environment for both core staff and travelers.
Unit Details
- Beds: 48
- Average Census: 27
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:5
- Nights: 1:6
- Support Staff:
- Unit Secretary: 7a–11p
- PCT Ratio: 1:10–15 (typically 3 PCTs per shift)
- Occasional 1:1 coverage with PCT or Patient Safety Tech
- Equipment:
- Hoyer lift
- Automated BP machines
- Bladder scanner
- Remote telemetry monitoring
- Vein finder
- EHR: Altera / Allscripts Sunrise
- Scheduling: Every other weekend; 12‑hour shifts preferred
- Floating: To similar MST units (D1, F2); float pool then travelers float first
- Patient Experience: Participation in daily multidisciplinary rounds (Mon–Fri, 10:30–11/11:15)
Required Skills & Experience
Candidates must have a strong Med/Surg background and be proficient in:
- Full head‑to‑toe assessments
- Orthopedic care
- IV medication administration, including:
- Lasix drip
- Heparin drip
- IV push metoprolol, diltiazem, insulin (IV or subQ)
- Wound care, including drains and wound vacs
- NGT/G‑tube care and parenteral nutrition
- Central line management (PICC, HD catheter, midlines)
- Foley, nephrostomy, and suprapubic catheter care
- Ostomy care
- Postoperative patient care
Procedures Performed
- NGT placement and management
Required Certifications
- Active RN License
- BLS
