Description

Auto Offer based on clinical recommendations – Will need to get start date & RTO approved by the manager.

Unit/Department - ICU Nursing Float
What units are included in the float pool - ICU (please see ICU requirements), ED Boarders (In-patients only), all MedSurg units, Observation unit.
Ratios -1:1, 1:2 for ICU, 1:3-4 for PCU or ED or 1:5-6 for lower acuity MedSurg.
Required Certifications - BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, WA or Compact License
Common diagnoses/Types of patients - Any depending on unit assigned to.
Experience or 'Must have' skills - Needs to have two years of ICU experience and able to take Swans, IABP and Impella with ability to float to MedSurg to take a full assignment. Need to be able to advocate for their own skill set appropriately if asked to do something they are not comfortable with.
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes, in ED, Critical Care and PCU units.
Common titratable &/or set rate drips - Sedation, vasoactive medications, paralytics,
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor - Yes on each unit.
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios - Dependent on unit, Yes for most dependent on staffing.
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) - Yes.
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes on each unit. Must be able to read tele strips
Shifts & Scheduling - Would be the potential for overtime if wanted. Set schedule, may be flexible depending on needs.
Weekend Requirement - Every other weekend. Would consider every weekend.
Holiday Requirement - Yes
Is there a call or standby requirement? No
How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule? They will call the staffing hour an hour to a half an hour prior to the start of their shift. Not outside of facility.
Scrub Color/Dress Code - Any color professional scrubs. Dressed in scrubs or business casual for any trainings as well.
Unit/Department specific orientation - 1 onboarding day with manager. 2 shifts with a member of the float pool.
