Built in Roman, Greek and Spanish styles, Old Mission Santa Barbara sits on a hilltop above the city, revealing its early years as a mission town founded in 1786. Today, the mission houses a museum with various artifacts. However, the beaches draw most people to the area, with many gorgeous stretches of water within easy reach, offering activities like standup paddleboarding, fishing and surfing.
