Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular

Location: Plainview, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position requires proficiency in both Vascular Ultrasound and Echocardiography.
  • Must be fully proficient in Echo Tech skills; no training provided.
  • Required skills include:
    • Adult Echo
    • Contrast Echo
    • Stress Echocardiogram (Treadmill)
    • Vascular Ultrasound studies
  • No floating between units.
  • On-call required: 5pm - 8am Monday - Friday, 24 hours Saturday & Sunday.
  • Weekends on-call required.
  • Patient ratio approximately 8:1.
  • Facility is a Short Term Acute Care with 49 staffed beds and a Level IV Trauma Center.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Echo-Vascular Technician, including both vascular ultrasound and echocardiography.
  • Proficient in adult echocardiography, including contrast echo and stress echocardiogram (treadmill).
  • Demonstrated experience in vascular ultrasound studies.
  • Fully skilled in echocardiography/echo procedures.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • Drug screening: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
    • COVID vaccine or declination.
  • Respirator clearance required for travel candidates.
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.

Work Environment & Additional Information

  • No floating between units.
  • On-call and weekend availability required.
  • Parking is free in unrestricted spaces.
  • Facility requires compliance with various regulatory and facility-specific training modules annually.
  • Badge photo required prior to start.
  • Must comply with facility's float policy acknowledgment.
