Description
Travel Pharmacist – Inpatient Rehabilitation
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist for a travel assignment supporting an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role involves providing pharmaceutical care to patients recovering from complex medical conditions, including neurological injuries, trauma, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
The Pharmacist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe medication management and support optimal patient outcomes throughout the recovery process.
Job Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacist (Inpatient Rehabilitation)
- Schedule: 5x8 hour day shifts (Monday–Friday)
- Shift Time: Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation hospital
Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams on medication therapy management
- Ensure safe and effective medication use for rehabilitation patients
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapy as needed
- Provide education to patients and healthcare staff
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and hospital policies
- Document all pharmaceutical interventions and activities
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license in applicable state
- BLS certification
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy (BS Pharm or PharmD required)
- Inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) experience required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Additional Details
- 34-bed inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Adult patient population recovering from stroke, brain injury, trauma, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic conditions
- Business casual dress code
- No weekend or on-call requirements
IRF (Inpatient Rehab Facility) experience is required for consideration
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred (2+ years)
Role focuses on rehabilitation patient populations with complex care needs
Strong interdisciplinary collaboration is essential
Day shift, weekday-only schedule
