10 hour shifts (7-1730) plus call
Years of Experience: 2 Years
Required Certifications
BLS Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
CVOR Tech Local: not accepted if within 50 miles. BR reduces by $10 if between 50-100 miles • Types of cases you see? CABG, VALVES, TAVR, Carotid, AV fistula, Thoracotomy. When no heart cases team does float to main OR • What your surgeons are looking for in a RN or a CST? Reliable, knowledgeable, respectful, efficient • Staffing model 2 RNS per CABG/Valve, 1-2 CSTs per CABG/Valve • Charting System Cerner • Bed size 12 operating rooms and 2 of those dedicated to open heart • We have a total of 12 OR rooms. Only 2 are dedicated to open heart. Surgical Services does around 40 cases per day. • Anything else regarding the specifics or ins and outs of the unit that you can share? Team works very closely together so must be able to collaborate well and work together as a team • Any selling points? Benefits? Offerings? Ect. Leadership does encourage a good work life balance. We want staff to have time off to enjoy life outside of work. • Scheduling Only one RN/Tech off per week for vacation, around 15 calls per 4-week schedule What makes you work at Union? What do you love about it? Leadership is very involved in the unit. We really encourage staff to look for ways and areas to improve processes then implement those changes "With having 10-15 calls per 4-week schedule there is opportunity for overtime. Usually 3-4 hearts per week plus vascular cases. "
