Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Cardiac Patients ; Transplant patients, Surgical Clearing; Pulmonary HTN pts
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS, ACLS
o Will accept ARRT or RCIS
o State license
Skills required:
o Scrub and Monitor Cath Procedure and PE
Support within the Department:
o Nurse Manager
o Charge
o RT 24/7
o Hospitalists 24/7
o Intensivists 24/7
o NPs and Fellows
o Cardiologists
o Weekend Crew that does scheduled cases Friday/Saturday, call team for emergency cases
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Cerner
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Hemodynamic System: McKesson
o C-arms: GE and Siemens
Floating: If yes, where?
o Possibly to EP Lab
Orientation (facility and unit) :
o 4-5 days
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: call only, see below
o On call? Yes
1-2 overnight call shifts per week
1-2 weekends of call in 6-week schedule, 0700 Saturday – 0700 Monday
30-minute response time
2 RNs/2 Techs on call
o Holiday Expectations: Based on unit needs
o Approval of RTO: NM approval
o Shift times: 0700-1930
o Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
Will be utilized to fill in the holes in the schedule
