Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced recovery unit. The ideal candidate must be comfortable handling post-anesthesia care for a variety of surgical cases and be able to function independently in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery
  • Monitor patient vitals and respond to complications
  • Care for patients with orthopedic and general surgery diagnoses
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
  • Float to other units as required
  • Function as core staff within the unit

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience (Required)
  • ICU or ER experience required
  • Active RN license
  • BLS & ACLS Certifications (Required)
  • Experience with EPIC EMR (Preferred)
  • Prior travel experience highly preferred
  • Degree accreditation verification required OR minimum 5 years of experience

Scheduling & Work Expectations:

  • 10-hour evening shifts with on-call requirement
  • Must be flexible to float between units
  • Travelers expected to work at the same level as permanent staff

Important Notes:

  • 50-mile radius rule enforced

Work Environment:

  • 24-bed PACU unit
  • High-acuity, fast-paced setting
  • Supportive team with strong expectations for independence and adaptability
