💼 Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity unit at a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital. This role involves caring for complex neuro, cardiac, and post-operative patients in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

🕒 Schedule & Shift

• Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holidays: 75% required
• No on-call

🩺 Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for MedSurg/Telemetry patients including neuro and post-op spine cases
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Manage drips (cardiac, heparin), IV fluids, and blood products
• Perform clinical procedures including trach care, chest tubes, NG tubes, and drains
• Deliver patient and family education, especially for neuro and spine recovery
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care

👩‍⚕️ Patient Population

• Stroke, seizures, brain tumors, spinal surgery/fusion
• High-acuity neurological and medical patients

📊 Unit Details

• Beds: 36
• Nurse Ratio: 1:4–6 (may vary based on acuity)
• EMR: EPIC
• Equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, Masimo & Phillips monitors

✅ Requirements

• Active RN License
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
• Strong neuro and cardiac care experience preferred
• First-time travelers considered (not preferred)

• Floating required within assigned region and facilities
• Orientation includes NEO + 2 days unit training
• Maximum 2 call-offs allowed per contract
