Description

Travel Pharmacist – Oncology / Infusion Center

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist for a travel assignment supporting a hospital-based infusion center. This role involves preparing and verifying chemotherapy medications, compounding hazardous drugs, and collaborating with oncology teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.

The Pharmacist will play a key role in supporting infusion patients, ensuring accurate medication management, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols in a specialized oncology setting.

Job Overview

Specialty: Pharmacist (Oncology / Infusion Center)
Schedule: 5x8 hour day shifts (Monday–Friday)
Shift Time: Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Charting System: Epic
Setting: Hospital-based infusion center

Responsibilities

Verify medication orders for oncology patients
Prepare and compound chemotherapy and hazardous medications
Ensure compliance with safety standards for handling hazardous drugs
Collaborate with oncology nurses and providers to support patient care
Monitor medication therapies and patient responses
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
Support pharmacy operations within a collaborative team environment

Requirements

Active Pharmacist license in applicable state
BLS certification
PharmD required
Minimum 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience
Oncology pharmacy experience required
Chemotherapy medication preparation experience required
Hazardous drug compounding experience required
