Description

Travel Pharmacist – Inpatient / Utilization & Clinical Support

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a travel assignment supporting a hospital setting. This role combines traditional pharmacy responsibilities with coordination of medication-related authorizations, clinical documentation support, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Pharmacist will work closely with care teams and external partners to ensure appropriate medication use, coverage approvals, and continuity of care for patients.

Job Overview

Specialty: Pharmacist (Inpatient)
Schedule: 5x8 hour day shifts
Shift Time: Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Setting: Acute care hospital

Responsibilities

Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
Support medication authorization and coverage processes for inpatient and outpatient services
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Communicate with providers and external partners regarding medication approvals
Assist with documentation requirements and compliance standards
Participate in care planning and treatment team discussions
Monitor medication therapy and support safe, effective patient outcomes

Requirements

Active Pharmacist license
BLS certification
Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
Strong clinical knowledge and medication management experience
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Experience with inpatient workflows required (retail-only experience will not be considered)
