Description

Travel Pharmacist – Acute Care Hospital

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacist for a travel assignment supporting a busy acute care facility. This role is ideal for a pharmacist comfortable working in a dynamic environment, including supporting an EMR transition while maintaining high-quality patient care.

The Pharmacist will play a key role in medication management, clinical support, and ensuring safe, effective, and compliant pharmacy operations.

Job Overview

Specialty: Pharmacist
Schedule: 5x8 hour rotating shifts (days/evenings)
Shift Start: Between 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM (varies)
Weekend Rotation: Yes (partial shifts)
Contract Length: Approximately 20 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Setting: Acute care hospital

Responsibilities

Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and safety
Compound and dispense medications, including IV admixtures and specialty therapies
Monitor patient medication therapy for effectiveness, interactions, and contraindications
Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and antibiotic stewardship recommendations
Collaborate with providers and care teams on medication management
Participate in code response team and clinical interventions
Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies
Support EMR transition and maintain accurate documentation

Requirements

Active Pharmacist license (state-specific)
BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
Acute care/hospital pharmacy experience required
Epic experience required
Experience with IV compounding and clinical pharmacy functions
Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends

Additional Details

Facility undergoing EMR transition from Meditech to Epic
Strong clinical focus with involvement in patient care and interdisciplinary teams
Opportunity for extended contract based on start date

Active Colorado Pharmacist license required at submission Epic experience is required (no exceptions) Flu vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions) Rotating weekend shifts required Must live outside 75-mile radius to qualify as traveler
