Description

CHIEF NURSE OFFICER - DIRECT HIRE

 

Chief Nurse Officer : Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer with a reporting relationship to the health care system’s Chief Nursing Executive, having the broadest scope for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for the development and implementation of facility-wide nursing education programs, operational standards, policies, procedures, and strategies, and an effective and ongoing program to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of patient care. Ensures optimal utilization of resources, service delivery, safe patient care, and compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and hospital rules and regulations and nursing standards of care, to improve outcomes and the patient experience

 

Shift: 8:00am - 5:00pm 

 

Requirement:

  • 8 yrs nursing, of which 6 yrs must be in management
  • Master's in Nursing Admin or related field
  • Experienced in union environments and managing structural or departmental change
  • At least 6+ years in healthcare leadership, ideally in large or complex hospital settings.

Key Goals:  Maintain nursing staffing ratios, increase HCAHPS scores within 3 years, Magnet designation within 5 years, Leapfrog grade of an “A” within 5 years

 

Licensure: Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) - will consider a pending NYS License
