Description
Travel Pharmacist – Night Shift (7 On / 7 Off)
We are seeking an experienced Travel Pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy operations in an acute care hospital setting. This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists who thrive in an independent, fast-paced environment and are comfortable working overnight shifts.
Job Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacist (Inpatient)
- Schedule: 7 on / 7 off
- Shift: Nights (8:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medications safely and accurately
- Prepare IV admixtures and sterile compounds
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapies and dosing
- Monitor for adverse drug reactions and ensure medication safety
- Maintain accurate patient medication profiles
- Provide education to clinical staff and patients as needed
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license (state-specific)
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience with sterile compounding and IV preparation
- Ability to work independently in a night shift environment
Additional Details
- 7 nights on / 7 nights off schedule (Wednesday–Tuesday rotation)
- No on-call requirement
- No block scheduling available
- Hospital setting with a diverse patient population
- Exposure to a wide range of inpatient pharmacy responsibilities
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Acute care hospital experience required
Must be comfortable working independently overnight
Sterile compounding experience required
Facility operates during holidays
Strong multitasking and decision-making skills needed in a high-demand environment
