Description
Travel Pharmacist – Inpatient Acute Care
We are seeking an experienced Travel Pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy operations at a high-volume acute care hospital. This role is ideal for pharmacists with strong clinical experience who are comfortable managing complex therapies in a fast-paced environment.
Job Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacist (Inpatient / Acute Care)
- Schedule: 5x8 hour rotating shifts (days & evenings)
- Shift Times:
- Days: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Evenings: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Responsibilities
- Verify and dispense medications for inpatient populations
- Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and therapeutic monitoring
- Manage renal dosing, anticoagulation, and specialty therapies
- Monitor for drug interactions and adverse reactions
- Support drug shortage management and medication optimization
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams on treatment plans
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Requirements
- PharmD required
- Active Pharmacist license (state-specific)
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient/acute care pharmacy experience
- Epic experience required
- Strong clinical skills including:
- Pharmacokinetics
- Renal dosing
- Therapeutic drug monitoring
- Travel experience required
Additional Details
- Rotating day/evening shifts
- Every third weekend required
- No call requirement
- Scrubs provided
- Must be able to pass fit testing (clean-shaven required)
- High-volume hospital with diverse patient populations
