Position Overview

Corewell Health is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join its invasive cardiovascular team in St. Joseph, MI. This role is ideal for a highly skilled RN with strong critical thinking abilities and a background in cardiac procedures. Electrophysiology (EP) experience is preferred.

The Cath Lab RN delivers high-quality, patient-centered care throughout all phases of cardiac procedures, working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Schedule & Shift Details

• Shift: Days
• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Start Times: Variable (6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, or 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours
• Weekend Requirement: On-call weekends
• On-Call: Required
  • Minimum 2-hour callback
  • 30-minute response time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Assist in cardiac catheterization and invasive procedures
• Support electrophysiology (EP) procedures when applicable
• Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
• Administer medications and perform point-of-care testing
• Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Act as a patient advocate, ensuring safety, privacy, and ethical care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain clinical competency

Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within specified timeframe per facility guidelines

Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience
• Cath Lab experience required
• EP (Electrophysiology) experience preferred
• Strong ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environments

Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN License – State of Michigan (required)
• BLS (AHA) – required
• ACLS (AHA) – required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – required
