Registered Nurse - CVICU (Madison, WI) Travel/Contract Position
Job Details
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day/Night, 8 or 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 and 1900-0730)
- Schedule: Every other weekend, some holidays, no call
Unit/Specialty
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
Required Experience
- CVICU experience required
- Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required
- Must pass Telemetry test prior to start
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 1 year CVICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Arrhythmia experience
- Experience and knowledge of the NextStage CVVH machine
- BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including multi-location search for past 7 years
- Education verification as applicable
- State-specific caregiver screening (Wisconsin BID Form) required within 90 days of start
- Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption
- Varicella vaccination or exemption
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual)
- Other vaccines as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal for certain departments)
- Physical exam (must meet agency standard, not facility required)
- Signed acknowledgment of safety manual and pass/fail testing for telemetry
Testing & Competency Exams
- Telemetry pass/fail testing required prior to start and annually
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Rhythm interpretation remediation required if second attempt at telemetry test is failed
Additional Notes
- Photo for badge must meet specific guidelines (passport-style, no headwear except religious/medical)
- No call required for this position
- Some holidays required
This position is ideal for experienced CVICU RNs with strong telemetry and arrhythmia skills, comfortable working rotating day/night shifts in a critical care environment.
