Description
Travel Pharmacist – Acute Care Hospital (Rotating Shifts)
We are seeking a clinically strong Travel Pharmacist to join a high-acuity hospital setting delivering patient-centered pharmaceutical care. This role offers exposure to diverse patient populations and a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Job Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacist (Inpatient / Acute Care)
- Schedule: 4x10s or 5x8s (rotating shifts)
- Shift Times: Variable start times between days and nights
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and medication management
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and safety
- Participate in patient care planning alongside interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor therapeutic outcomes and adjust medication regimens as needed
- Provide drug information, education, and counseling to patients and staff
- Prepare and dispense medications in compliance with regulatory standards
- Support medication safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts
- Assist with staff education and onboarding when needed
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license (state-specific, required at submission)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience
- PGY1 residency preferred or equivalent clinical experience
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Epic experience preferred
Additional Details
- Rotating day and night shifts
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- May float to nearby facilities within the system based on census
- Exposure to a wide range of patient populations including neonatal through geriatric
PGY1 residency strongly preferred (or equivalent experience)
Must be flexible with rotating shifts
Epic experience preferred
Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital setting
Floating may be required within the system
Weekend rotation required
