Description
Travel Pharmacist – Inpatient Hospital Setting
We are seeking an experienced Travel Pharmacist to support a hospital-based pharmacy team in a fast-paced inpatient setting. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, independence, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
Job Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacist (Inpatient)

- Shift: Evenings (11:30 AM – 8:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and safety
- Perform clinical pharmacy functions including renal dosing, IV to PO conversions, and antimicrobial stewardship
- Manage and monitor medication therapies including vancomycin and aminoglycoside dosing
- Oversee TPN dosing and electrolyte management
- Provide medication counseling to patients as needed
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support workflow efficiency
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and hospital policies
Requirements
- Active Florida Pharmacist license (required at submission)
- BLS certification
- Sterile compounding experience required
- Strong clinical pharmacy background in inpatient setting
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Excellent communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
Additional Details
- Evening/closing pharmacist role with call responsibilities
- Experience with Meditech Expanse preferred
- Familiarity with DoseEdge, VigiLanz, or similar systems preferred
- Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and strong clinical judgment
Sterile compounding experience is required
Must be comfortable working independently in an evening/closing role
Strong clinical skills in dosing and medication management preferred
Ability to supervise technicians while maintaining workflow
Experience in hospital pharmacy setting required
