Description

Travel Pharmacist – Inpatient Hospital Setting

We are seeking a dependable and clinically strong Travel Pharmacist to support a hospital pharmacy team in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role offers a mix of clinical responsibilities and operational support within a decentralized pharmacy model.

Job Overview

Shift: Rotating Days/Evenings
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Setting: Acute Care Hospital

Responsibilities

Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and safety
Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding
Support medication distribution including Pyxis refills and first-dose dispensing
Assist with unit-dose packaging and medication preparation
Participate in code response preparation (code trays)
Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient care
Provide pharmacy support including answering calls and assisting with workflow
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards

Requirements

Active Missouri Pharmacist license (required at submission)
BLS certification
Hospital pharmacy experience required
Experience with sterile compounding
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Strong organizational and communication skills

Additional Details

Rotating day and evening shifts
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirement
Decentralized pharmacy model with strong technician support
Experience with Meditech, Pyxis, or DoseEdge preferred

Missouri license must be active prior to submission Weekend rotation is required Must be comfortable with both clinical and operational pharmacy duties Experience in inpatient hospital setting required Ability to adapt to rotating shifts (days/evenings)
