Description
Travel Pharmacist – 7 On / 7 Off Evening Shift | Acute Care
We are seeking an experienced Travel Pharmacist for a 7 on / 7 off evening shift assignment in a dynamic acute care hospital. This role offers a unique schedule and exposure to a wide range of clinical services.
Job Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacist
- Schedule: 7 on / 7 off
- Shift: Evening Shift (1:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders across multiple hospital units
- Perform clinical dosing including anticoagulation, vancomycin, insulin, and TPN
- Support sterile compounding and IV preparation
- Monitor medication therapies for safety and effectiveness
- Provide drug information and clinical support to providers and nursing staff
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support workflow operations
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient care
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license (must be in hand prior to start)
- Recent hospital pharmacy experience required
- Experience with inpatient clinical dosing and medication management
- Ability to work independently during evening hours
- BLS certification required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel experience
- Experience with Meditech, Pyxis, or similar systems
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing technicians and workflow independently
