RN Cardiac Step Down

Type of staff:
Day Shift – 1 Charge Nurse/ 10 staff/bedside nurses/4 PCTs/1 Unit Secretary
Night Shift – 1 Charge Nurse/10 staff/bedside nurses/3 PCTs
Patient Ratios –1:4; stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio
Type of patients: patients with CHF, MI, CP, arrhythmia, Pulmonary Hypertension; valvular disease, endocarditis; DKA; post cardiac cath/stent; post pacer/ICD/ ablation.
Type of equipment: Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipments, bladder scanner;
EMR - Cerner

Must have:  Active RN license. Active BLS. Stepdown or progressive care experience & Telemetry experience. Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications like nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix; etc.
 

Preferred or nice to have: 

Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin).
Relief charge experience

Bedside Cardioversion 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

BLS, ACLS
Floating Area(s):

All MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding.
