Description

Position: Director of Labor & Delivery (DON - L&D)

Location: Grand Junction, CO- 81505

Contract Length: 26 Weeks

Start Date: ASAP

Shift: 5x8-hour Day Shifts (Variable)

EMR Used: Meditech

Role Requirements & Qualifications:

Education:

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required: Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

Experience:

Clinical: Minimum of 10 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Leadership: Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting

Licenses & Certifications:

License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado or compact.
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP from AHA
Preferred Certifications: Additional maternal or neonatal certifications (e.g., RNC-OB, C-EFM)

Role Summary & Responsibilities

As the Director, you will have full operational and strategic oversight of the Labor & Delivery department.

Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations to ensure safe, high-quality patient care for mothers, newborns, and families.
Team Management: Lead nursing and clinical staff through recruitment, mentorship, and professional development.
Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards while leading quality improvement initiatives.
Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and hospital leadership to achieve departmental goals.
Resource Management: Manage departmental resources, staffing, and budget to ensure efficient and effective operations.
