Hours:
Monday-Friday

Weekend Requirement:
Call can include weekends
Holiday Requirement:

On Call:
Must take at least 14 days of call per month
Must respond to STEMI call backs in less than 30 minutes

Unit Information

Unit:
Cardiac Cath Lab
Beds:
3-4 rooms (Cath, Vascular, EP and hybrid)

Patient Ratios:
Diagnostic and interventional cases

Days:
Generally, 4-8 Caths a day
Can run up to 12-16 with 2 rooms

Patient Population

Adults (18-64 years)
Geriatrics (65 years and older)

Required Certifications
Must be attached at submission:

BLS
ACLS
NIH Stroke Certification

Minimum Experience Requirements

2 years of recent Cath lab experience
1 year RN experience in telemetry, critical care, cardiac cath lab, ER, or OR

Preferred:

EP experiences
RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
RCES Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse
PCCN Progressive Care Certified Nurse
EPIC Electronic Health Record training
Critical Care Course

Required Skills

Circulate
Dysrhythmia exam

Preferred Skills

Inserting intra-aortic balloon pumps, chest tubes, and impellas
Hemodynamic monitoring
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
Transvenous pacing/temporary pacing
Administering conscious sedation
Advanced respiratory modalities
