Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in critical care and neonatal intensive care (NICU) settings, with the ability to manage advanced respiratory equipment and provide high-quality patient care. This role requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and the ability to assist in patient transport when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, and adults
• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
• Operate and manage mechanical ventilators, including V60 BiPAP and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
• Perform airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Respond to emergency situations, including code blue and rapid response events
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Accurately document patient care and treatment plans using EPIC electronic medical records system
• Participate in internal and external patient transports, ensuring safe and effective respiratory support during transit
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety regulations 

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
• Proven experience in critical care and NICU settings
• Hands-on experience with V60 BiPAP and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
• Proficiency in EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems
