Job Description: Strike/Crisis Registered Nurse (13-Week Contract) – Brooklyn, NY

Position Summary
We are seeking experienced and highly adaptable Registered Nurses (RNs) to support a strike or crisis staffing assignment in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate is confident working in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments, able to provide high-quality patient care with minimal supervision, and flexible with scheduling and unit assignments. This is a high-acuity, urgent-need position requiring nurses who can quickly integrate into facility operations and deliver safe, effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across assigned units in accordance with facility policies, state regulations, and evidence-based standards.
- Respond effectively to crisis or strike-related staffing conditions, maintaining calm and professional behavior.
- Conduct assessments, develop nursing care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and internal/external crisis response staff.
- Document all care and interventions accurately in the facility’s electronic medical record (EMR).
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, safety policies, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain readiness for rapid task changes, high patient volumes, and urgent clinical needs.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and care transitions as required.
- Support patient and family education with clarity and compassion.
Requirements
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York license or compact if accepted for crisis credentialing).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent hospital experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry, ICU, ER, or relevant specialty.
- Previous strike, crisis, rapid response, or travel nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, days or nights, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- Must be dependable, flexible, and capable of adapting to high-stress environments.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred).
- Ability to start immediately or within a short timeframe.
