Pride Health is hiring Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) to support our client in Chapel Hill, NC 27514. This is a 3+Months assignment (Possibility of extension). opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist provides advanced imaging and procedural support for Interventional Radiology (IR), Neurointerventional Radiology (NIR), and Vascular procedures. This role involves assisting physicians during complex minimally invasive procedures, ensuring accurate documentation, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Procedural Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate patient scheduling with anesthesia, ICU, med/surg, and pharmacy teams
• Verify patient identity, procedure orders, and consent
• Review lab values and identify contraindications prior to procedures
• Document procedural details including fluoroscopy time, radiation dose, contrast usage, and interventions performed
• Ensure accurate procedural coding and compliance
• Manage image processing and transfer via IMPAX (PACS)

Imaging & Equipment Operation

• Operate advanced imaging equipment including:
• Fluoroscopy (single-plane & bi-plane systems)
• Ultrasound and CT imaging
• IVUS and fusion imaging systems
• Utilize specialized technologies such as:
• AngioJet, Penumbra, EKOS
• CT fusion, iGuide
• Radiofrequency, microwave, and cryoablation systems
• Perform image post-processing, QA, and system checks
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with vendor support

Patient Care & Procedural Support

• Prepare and position patients using sterile technique
• Assist physicians as a first assist during procedures
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to clinical staff
• Assist with administration and documentation of contrast and medications
• Ensure radiation safety for patients and staff
• Assist with specimen handling and post-procedure care

Required Qualifications

• ARRT Certification (Radiologic Technology)
• BLS or ACLS Certification
• Associate’s Degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program
• Experience in IR, NIR, and Vascular procedures (required)
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and radiation safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens imaging systems
• Prior experience in high-acuity interventional settings
• Familiarity with advanced interventional tools and fusion imaging
