Duration: Base Year + 1 Optional Year
Start: Pending Credentialing (6–8 weeks)
Positions: Multiple (Part of 45 FTEs)
Work Setting: Community Living Center (Long-Term Care / Rehab)

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to support the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center as part of a large-scale staffing initiative tied to the Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. RNs will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care to veterans in the Community Living Center (CLC), focusing on long-term, rehabilitative, and geriatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to veterans in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Monitor patient conditions and document care accurately in the EHR system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and care plans
• Maintain compliance with VA policies, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
• Support patient care during EHR system transition and implementation

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact State - NLC)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent direct patient care experience (within last 3 years)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA required)
• Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Community Living Center (CLC), Long-Term Care, or Skilled Nursing Facility
• Prior VA or federal healthcare experience
• Experience working with geriatric or rehabilitation patients
• Familiarity with EHR systems
