Shift: 12-Hr Nights, every other weekend and major holiday required

Possible Float Locations: ICU, Med/Surg, ED
Float Notes: Traveler may float within skillset for Stepdown/Progressive Care holds. Assignments will remain within demonstrated competency and scope.

Unit Information

Unit: 27-Bed Cardio-Pulmonary Progressive Care Unit.
Beds: 27

Patient Ratios: 1:3-4

Days: Typically 2-3 CNAs.

Nights: 2 CNAs

Charge Nurse: Rarely travelers serve as charge; typically carries a lighter assignment.

Patient Population
 

• Cardiac - Heart block, chronic cardiac conditions, cardiac rhythm management.
• Procedural - Chest tubes, progressive cardiac care population.

Required Certifications
Must be attached at submission:
 

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Minimum Experience Requirements
 

• 1 year of RN experience

Preferred:
 

• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting

Required Skills
 

• Proficient with lab draws and peripheral IV starts
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips: Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone
• Experience with BiPAP and insulin drips
• Cardiac rhythm monitoring

Charting System

Charting:
 

• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training preferred

Include any required check-off, class, or training if listed
 

• Must pass EKG Exam at Orientation (Study Guide Available in Simplify Library)

Unit Culture / Strengths
 

• Strong core staff with experienced charge nurses

Dress Code

Scrubs:
 

• Navy blue, white, or any combination of the two colors

Include logo restrictions if listed
Additional Policies
 

• NO LOCAL CANDIDATES (must reside outside 50-mile radius)
• NO travel pairs/teams accepted

Education Requirement
