This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension.Position Overview:This is not a confidential replacement. The Interim DON will play a key leadership role in maintaining and advancing clinical operations, staff development, and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities &amp; Priorities:<ul><li>Ensure nursing compliance, including:<ul><li>Onboarding of traveling staff</li><li>Orientation and competency validation</li></ul></li><li>Continue building and strengthening teamwork across all departments</li><li>Focus on improving communication:<ul><li>Leadership → staff</li><li>Staff → leadership</li></ul></li><li>Support clinical operations, including willingness to assist on the floor (“push the cart”) in emergency staffing situations</li></ul>Facility Details:<ul><li>Census: 16–20 residents</li><li>Staffing ratio: approximately 4–5 residents per staff member</li><li>Strong, collaborative IDT team</li><li>Recent survey: April 1, 2026 (complaint survey)</li><li>Upcoming: Annual survey window this month or next</li></ul>Schedule &amp; Expectations:<ul><li>On-call required (shared; details discussed during interview)</li><li>Leadership presence and hands-on support expected</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Prior Director of Nursing (DON) experience required</li><li>Strong background in long-term care (LTC)</li><li>Proven experience with compliance, surveys, and staff development</li></ul>
