Position Overview
A major healthcare facility in Newark, NJ is seeking an experienced Travel Wound Care RN for a 13‑week contract starting 5/11. This is an auto‑offer role for qualified candidates—ideal for a nurse with strong clinical judgment, advanced wound care skills, and confidence managing complex patient populations.

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of dedicated Wound Care RN experience
- BLS (AHA)
- CWCN or WOCN certification (required)
- Epic charting experience
NJ RN license

Clinical Responsibilities
Wound Care & Skin Integrity
- Perform wound treatments and dressings including: alginates, foams, hydrogels, hydrocolloids, silver products, VAC therapy, autolytic/enzymatic debridement, mechanical debridement, growth factors
- Conduct comprehensive wound/ulcer assessments: staging I–IV, neuropathic, venous, and peripheral arterial ulcers
- Utilize Braden Scale and adult prevention risk assessments
- Implement infection control and isolation precautions
- Provide patient and family education on wound care and prevention
- Assess tunneling, undermining, venous status, cellulitis, edema, and pressure‑related injuries
- Perform ABI/peripheral arterial assessments
Ostomy & Continence Care
- Manage colostomy/ileostomy care, including double‑barrel and end stomas
- Select and manage ostomy equipment
- Provide continence skin care management
- Support continence therapeutic devices: urinary/fecal incontinence programs, external catheters, catheter management, and self‑care teaching
