POSITION: RN- PICU

SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING

? Auto Offer: No
? Shift Hours/Contract Length: 7p-7:30a
? Years of Experience Required: 2+ years of PICU critical care experience with 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred. Both must be documented on skills checklist.
? Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
? Charting: EPIC experience required
? RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: Priority given to submits with a screenshot confirming RTO and schedule requests (Especially if under 7 days and no holiday time off). No requests will be approved after offer.
? Call Off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
? Accept First-Time Travelers: No
? Locals Accepted: Yes, Locals accepted at the same rate.
? Holiday Requirement: Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays, per unit needs

REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

? IV therapy/Phlebotomy; Starting and maintaining IVs; Accessing/Managing Ports; Central line blood draw; Central Line/Implanted Line Care; PICC line management; Administration of blood & blood products; TPN/Lipids
? Acute/chronic renal failure; Peritoneal dialysis/CAPD; Pre/Post Hemodialysis; Urinary catheter insertion/management
? Anti-Seizure Medications; Antiarrhythmics; Continuous Sedation; IV vasopressors; Pediatric Dosage Calculations; Insulin administration; Use of Broselow system; Assist with lumbar puncture; Hydrocephalus/VP shunt
? Assist/manage intubation; Care/maintenance of acute airway; Care of Ventilated Patient; BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance; High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC); End-Tidal CO2 monitoring; Suctioning (ETT, NT); Tracheostomy care; Management of Chest Tubes
? Telemetry - on the unit monitoring; Medtronic pacemakers; Isolation Precautions/PPE; Wound assessment/care; Management of gastric tubes; NG tube insertion/management;

? Ratios: PICU:1:1?2; Stepdown:1:3; Pediatrics:1:4-5; NICU 1:2-3 (Confirm with traveler)
? Unit Details: Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Infants, Pediatrics; Number of Beds: 19; PICU supports critical care patients with variable acuity and stepdown capability.
? Scrubs: Navy Blue
? Floating: Candidates must float within their skillset without exception (appropriate assignments). Ratios vary based on census, patient acuity and staffing; (Confirm floating with traveler)

Pros

Staff and management are very friendly. The ratios are pretty good. Sometimes it gets very busy and sometimes transport is put in by someone else before you even have the patient ready to go. They are very flexible with scheduling and their weekend requirements are reasonable.
