Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida
Employment Type: Travel

Job Description

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will provide specialized care to patients experiencing severe medical conditions such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities include:

Assessing patient conditions and implementing care plans
Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
Assisting physicians with procedures
Monitoring and recording vital signs
Managing ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and other medical equipment
Administering intravenous fluids and medications
Suctioning and airway management
Collaborating with the critical care team
Responding to life-saving situations using established nursing protocols
Advocating for patients and educating/supporting their families
Caring for pre- and post-operative patients
Potentially serving as case managers or performing administrative duties
May be required to float to lower acuity units depending on census

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Florida
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care
