Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a fast-paced 28-bed unit specializing in respiratory care, including tracheostomy and chronic ventilator patients. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg patients with respiratory conditions
• Manage patients with tracheostomies and chronic ventilators
• Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation using Epic EMR
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital protocols
• Float to other units as required.
 

Unit Details:

• 28-bed Medical/Surgical unit
• Specialty: Respiratory, trach, and chronic vent patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6
• Fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
 

Minimum Requirements:

• Active RN license (State of Ohio or compact)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE required)
• 2+ years of recent Med/Surg experience (required)
• Recent experience with trach and chronic ventilator patients (required)
• Phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months (required)
• Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months (required)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Experience in LTACH setting preferred.
 

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to work every other weekend
• Floating is required
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed (must be submitted upfront)
• No RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks
• No block scheduling requests accepted
• Solid black scrubs required.
