Registered Nurse – Stepdown Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work on a Stepdown unit with potential to float to similar patient care units including Emergency Department.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (Day: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm / Night: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am). Shift rotation possible based on hospital needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum 1.5 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Progressive Care experience preferred but not required.

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory. Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome and cannot be skipped.
• Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) are completed during orientation.
• Photo ID required for badge issuance.

Additional Information

• Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
• Background checks must be updated annually and after breaks in service of 2 or more months.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite.
• Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
• Candidates with name changes must have consistent legal names on all documents.
• Candidates must be prepared to complete all required health documentation and immunizations before starting.
• Medication and ECG competency exams require a minimum passing score (SafeMedicate 90%, ECG 80%). Retakes and remediation are provided if needed.
• Traveler will use a specific system for submitting hours worked.

Shift Details

• Rotating day and night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each.
• Shift times:

  • Day: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
  • Night: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am

This position is ideal for experienced Stepdown nurses licensed in Ohio or a Compact State, who are comfortable with rotating 12-hour shifts and meeting comprehensive health and competency requirements.
