Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for a Neuro-focused Med Surg unit. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with neurological and post-surgical conditions in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3x12s)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available
• Floating required within facility as needed 

Assignment Details

• Duration: 12 weeks
• Unit: Med Surg Neuro (7/5M)
• Bed size: 24 beds
• Average patient ratio: 1:6
• Orientation: 48 hours 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for neuro and medical-surgical patients
• Manage post-stroke, TBI, SDH, and spinal surgery cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies
• Administer medications and support treatment plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
• Ensure accurate documentation using Epic EMR 

Patient Population

• Stroke and TIA patients
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Subdural Hematoma (SDH)
• Post-operative spinal surgery patients
• Adult and geriatric population 

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• BLS certification from AHA
• NIHSS certification
• Experience with neuro and telemetry patients 

Unit & Facility Details

• EMR: Epic
• Medication system: Pyxis
• Support services: IV team, RT, PT, pharmacy, rapid response, transport
• Equipment: EKG, bladder scanner
• Scrub color: Navy blue

• First-time travelers accepted

• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Compliance required for on-time start (delays may push orientation by 2 weeks)
• Must work assigned major holidays if applicable
