CT Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Topeka, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3 shifts/week, 12 hours each)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
The CT Technologist performs diagnostic computed tomography procedures, operates radiologic equipment, and manages all related documentation. The role involves working weekend nights alongside one other technologist, with no on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic CT procedures using a pressure injector and administer contrast under supervision.
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, adjusting immobilization devices as needed.
- Determine and adjust exposure factors based on patient characteristics to produce high-quality images.
- Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Use independent judgment to perform technical procedures involving ionizing radiation.
- Conduct routine maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform minor repairs, and coordinate major repairs.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- 7-year background check (updated annually).
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG screenings.
- Education verification.
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology tests.
- Primary source verification of state license.
- Completion of facility-specific compliance packets and attestations.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; follow-up required for positive responders.
- Immunization or immunity documentation for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (9/1–3/31).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, including MRO signature.
- Annual skills checklist.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement annually.
Additional Information
- Locals are accepted at the same bill rate.
- No call responsibilities.
- Work involves weekend night shifts only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
This position is ideal for CT technologists with at least one year of experience, who are licensed in Kansas, and comfortable working weekend night shifts in a travel/contract capacity.
