Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Cardiac Specialty Unit)

• Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in a cardiac telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) unit
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions such as CHF, NSTEMI, AFib, and arrhythmias
• Care for post-cardiac cath and PCI patients, including sheath management
• Interpret and manage cardiac rhythms using telemetry monitoring
• Administer cardiac medications and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Respond to cardiac emergencies and collaborate with rapid response teams
• Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
• Document patient care using Cerner charting system

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of current Telemetry/Cardiac Med-Surg experience
• Cardiac experience strongly preferred
• Active RN license
• Certifications required: BLS and NIHSS (ACLS preferred)
• Must be able to pass EKG/telemetry competency test
