Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Work in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• Responsibilities include postpartum (PP) and mother-baby (MB) care
• OB surgical recovery experience (especially C-section) highly preferred
• On-call hours approximately 16-20 hours every 6 weeks, with option to pick up extra weekend and weekday shifts instead of call

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific approved mask types required)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or True 2-Step PPD) within 1 year; if positive, chest X-ray and questionnaire required annually
• Immunity or vaccination proof for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccination, or declination accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Seasonal flu vaccination required; no declinations or exemptions accepted

Background and Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including sex offender and nationwide checks
• Annual verification of EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions
• Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprinting required for school placements only (candidate must be in Maryland for fingerprinting)
• NURSYS license verification as applicable
• Completion of medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
