Description

Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Number of Openings: 1

Unit and Patient Population

Unit: ICU/CVICU (Blended ICU)
Trauma Level: III
Number of Beds: 16
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
Equipment: Baxter pumps
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
Float Requirements: Intermediate Care Unit (primary RN), ED holding (as needed)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Experience as primary RN in Intermediate Care Unit (float requirement)
Experience in ED holding for admitted patients (float requirement)

Clinical Experience and Skills

Experience with common diagnoses and treatments including:
- STEMI, NSTEMI
- COPD exacerbation
- Sepsis
- CABG, Valve repair/replacement
- Acute Respiratory Failure
- Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (A. Fib RVR)
- Alcohol Withdrawal
- Head Injury
- Overdose
- Stroke
- Trauma
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) & Transcatheter Valve Replacement (TVAR)
CVICU experience is a plus but not required

Work Environment and Policies

Attendance: One call-out allowed per contract; second call-out requires documentation and is reviewed case-by-case
No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts may be considered but are not guaranteed
Shift preference flexibility should be indicated (day, night, or both)
