Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience
- Strong background in orthopedic surgery
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Endoscopy experience preferred (or C-section experience as alternative)
Shift Notes
5x8hr shift, Mon-Fri, 0700-1530 with call

Assignment Duration: 8 weeks (Start Date: 05/11 – required)

Candidate must provide written confirmation stating that housing options have been reviewed, the pay package is approved, the assignment details are understood, and there is a commitment to sign the offer within 24 hours.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced surgical setting located in a resort-style area. The facility has a strong focus on orthopedic procedures, sports medicine, and robotic-assisted surgeries. Experience in endoscopy or C-sections is required.
Unit Details: Surgical Services – OR (Floor 2)
- Operating Rooms: 4 main suites + 1 endoscopy suite
- Average Case Volume: Approximately 8 cases per day
Case Types
- Orthopedics: total joints, sports medicine, hand surgeries, trauma
- General surgery
- Gynecology
- Cesarean sections
- Endoscopy procedures
Staffing & Roles
- Dedicated Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM)
- Team includes Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) and RNs
- Support staff available for room turnover
- All OR staff are expected to assist with cleaning and turnover tasks
Technology
- EMR: Epic
- Instrument tracking: TDOC
- Endoscopy documentation: ProVation
Schedule
- Shifts: Monday–Friday, 8-hour days (typically 07:00–15:30)
- Schedule may vary depending on operational needs
On-Call Requirements
- Weekdays: ~4 nights per month (15:30–07:00), may increase if staffing is low
- Weekends: 1 full weekend per month (Saturday 07:00 – Monday 07:00)
- Holidays: Possible call assignment if applicable
- Response Time: Must remain within 30 minutes of the facility while on call
Additional Expectations
- OR staff may assist with endoscopy coverage
- CSTs should have some experience in sterile processing (SPD) and high-level disinfection (HLD)
- Dress Code: Blue scrubs (provided), OR-specific footwear required
Orientation
- 5-day orientation program
- Travelers are paired with a preceptor
- Includes unit-specific training, workflows, and organizational expectations
