Special Procedures/Unit Details: The Shock Trauma PACU is a 12-bay unit with a 24/7 team, providing peri-anesthesia care specializing in traumatic injury management 365 days a year. Vigilant pre and post-operative care is provided to outpatients and inpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgery by more than 20 surgical and procedural services. This unique team also supports the mission of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center through their clinical flexibility outside of traditional peri-anesthesia care, including procedural space and patient overflow from the Trauma Resuscitation Unit. Not your typical PACU. Nurses must be competent in titration of vasopressors, airway management, care of ventilated patients, blood product administration and fluid resuscitation.

Holidays: required as they fall, as scheduled
Weekends: 3 Weekend shifts/4 weeks
Floating: required within the specialty, other units and sister SRH facilities within scope
On-call: 7a-7:30p; 7p-7:30a; 1-2 twelve hour call shifts/6 week schedule required
