Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract Position

Location: New York, NY
Assignment Length: 25 weeks
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM (4x9.5 hours), with weekend and holiday on-call


Job Summary

  • Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting with a focus on Radiology/Cardiology specialties.
  • Requires scrubbing experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab environment.
  • Involves knowledge of Interventional Cardiology, Hemodynamic Monitoring, and Cardiovascular Anatomy & Physiology.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New York.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab Technologist experience.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 60 days prior to assignment covering all locations lived, worked, or attended school in the past 7 years, including all aliases.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Social Security Verification, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List Search, FBI Wanted Person List, and FBI Terrorist Watch List checks required within 60 days prior to start and updated annually as applicable.
  • Education Verification with primary source verification for all formal education listed.
  • Employment Application and Work History Verification covering 20 years, with all gaps accounted for and documented.
  • Two professional references within 2 years of start date.
  • Signed confidentiality agreement, staff attestation, harassment factsheet, and department orientation checklist required prior to start.
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment (updated annually).

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start, including vital signs, review of systems, medical history, and clearance to work without restrictions.
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year prior to start; must be completed before assignment start (no PAPRs accepted).
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen with chain of custody within 60 days prior to start (excluding marijuana).
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Hepatitis B (antibody and antigen titers; vaccine series or signed declination if non-immune).
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer).
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive IgG titers; boosters required if low titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Sept 3 – May 31). Exemptions require facility approval.
  • TB testing: Qgold or Tspot within 60 days of start, or 2-step PPD with follow-up testing as applicable. TB questionnaire must be completed annually.
  • Hepatitis C titer within 6 months; treatment documentation required if positive.
  • Vision screening (Snellen) within 12 months of start; corrective lenses noted if needed.
  • Color blind testing required if failed online exam twice; in-person Ishihara test with MD signature required.

Competency Requirements

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Competency exam relevant to profession/specialty.
  • Color blind testing (online or in-person as needed).
